April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball star in the US is part of a select set of females who've been awarded medals at multiple Olympics. Alix Klineman is the newest Olympian and will join the team in Tokyo. In addition, Ross is aiming to capture the first Olympic gold. At 39, this could be Ross' last opportunity to claim the Olympic gold. Still confident, however. Ross through NBC Boston, said that if the team plays very well, or even at all, they could win a gold. So I'm going to take the chance as well. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents and sister. While at Newport Harbor High School, she played in a variety of sports. While a prep student she played indoor volleyball along with basketball as well as running track. In the last sport, she clearly stood out. According to her bio, she played a middle blocker and outside hitting volleyball player during her high-school career. As a tribute to her efforts she was awarded the Gatorade Award for National Player 1999. In 2000, the Orange County Athlete of the Month award was also won by her for volleyball. While Ross Klineman and Ross are a couple from 2017 onward, the former had already been a major player on the beach scene long before their pairing. As a matter of fact, Ross has won several major tournaments in her career with two partners. One is a volleyball legend. From 2007-2013 she played together with Jennifer Kessy who more recently played the role of Klineman's coach. Alongside Kessy Ross was an ace in the world circuit, winning the world championship in 2009. The 2012 Olympic Games, they were awarded a gold medal. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team as well as Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. As fate would have it Ross was Walsh Jennings' new partner as May-Treanor stepped down. The pair won the bronze medal in beach volleyball in the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross played for the Trojans at USC during her college after graduating from high school. The Trojans had a great career for Ross in the school. She was an All-American as well as Pac-10 Freshman of Year in the year 2000, a young freshman. Also, she was a key player to help the Trojans to make it to the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a significant personal loss in her sophomore, however, she was successful in achieving the All-American distinction. Through her two final years of participation in the Trojans program, she guided the Trojans to winning a national title every year. For her part Ross established her status as a legend when she won the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. The award is given to the top female volleyball players at colleges across the nation. Ross had been an international studies student at USC. Margie Ross did not see her daughter achieve the heights in beach volleyball. Ross lost her mom to cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. But, she will always remember her deceased parent close and close. Margie, on the beach and in daily life, inspires her.
